Water and sewer lines
Trenched below frost (48 inches minimum for water), bedded in sand where required by code.

Excavation Services · Duluth, MN
Running a new water line, upgrading a service, burying a power feed to an outbuilding, or dropping in a drain tile? We trench clean, to the right depth, with the utility locates called and verified — and we backfill properly so you're not dealing with a settled trench a year from now.
What you get
Trenched below frost (48 inches minimum for water), bedded in sand where required by code.
24-inch depth standard for residential, deeper for commercial. Warning tape buried 12 inches above the conductor.
Proper slope to daylight or a sump, filter fabric over perforated pipe.
Coordinated with utility crews where they handle the install — we dig and backfill.

Seen on the ground
Every trenching job we take in Duluth and the Twin Ports gets the same treatment: a careful site walk, a written estimate, proper prep, and work that holds up through Minnesota winters.
If you’re not sure whether we’re the right fit, call — we’ll tell you honestly. If it’s outside our wheelhouse or service area, we’ll point you to somebody who can help.
Our process
Gopher State One Call locates every time. Non-negotiable.
Clean, straight, to spec depth. We avoid existing utilities and hand-dig close to marked lines.
Pipe or conduit laid, bedded, and inspected (by you, a plumber, or an electrician depending on the job).
Sand or select fill to protect the pipe, then native soil in lifts, compacted. No future sinkholes.
