Electric service runs
24-inch depth standard for residential, deeper for commercial. Warning tape buried 12 inches above the conductor.
Drain tile and perimeter drains
Proper slope to daylight or a sump, filter fabric over perforated pipe.
Gas and fiber
Coordinated with utility crews where they handle the install — we dig and backfill.

Call 811 before we dig
Gopher State One Call locates every time. Non-negotiable.
- 02
Trench
Clean, straight, to spec depth. We avoid existing utilities and hand-dig close to marked lines.
- 03
Lay and inspect
Pipe or conduit laid, bedded, and inspected (by you, a plumber, or an electrician depending on the job).
- 04
Backfill and compact
Sand or select fill to protect the pipe, then native soil in lifts, compacted. No future sinkholes.

- Minimum 7 feet below finished grade for freeze protection per Duluth code — our frost line is deep and unforgiving. We trench to 7 feet for any potable water service.
