We build walls that do their job — which is holding back thousands of pounds of saturated soil through freeze/thaw cycles without bowing, cracking, or sliding. The two things that kill retaining walls are frost and water. We design for both.

Poured concrete walls
For taller walls and heavy loads. Engineered rebar, proper footings, and clean form lines.
Drainage designed in
4-inch perforated drain tile at the base, 12 inches of clean rock behind, weep holes every 10 feet.
Geogrid reinforcement
Walls over 4 feet or those holding back a slope get geogrid buried into the backfill at each course.

From call to finished concrete.

Design
We measure grades, check soil, and design the wall system. Walls over 4 feet get engineered drawings.
- 02
Excavate & base
Frost-depth footing for poured walls. 6–12 inches of compacted crushed rock for block walls.
- 03
Build
Forms and rebar for poured, course-by-course placement for block. Drainage installed as we build.
- 04
Backfill and finish
Clean rock against the wall, filter fabric, then topsoil and planting or rock cover.

- In most Minnesota jurisdictions, retaining walls over 4 feet in exposed height, or those supporting a surcharge (driveway, pool, etc.), require stamped engineer drawings. Under 4 feet and unloaded, prescriptive standards usually apply.
